Support Local Authors!

The following is a press release for the Indie Author Day event at the downtown Buffalo library. The message was written by library staff; I merely copied it to my blog site. However, I would like to add: please stop by the library on Sat. October 14th where I will be present with copies of my book The Lost Son: A Rock 'n' Roll Road to Redemption for sale and to discuss my work or any other interesting topic with the public and potential readers. So thank you in advance for anyone that does come out to see me or the many other participating authors attending the event and much thanks to the Buffalo library for hosting this wonderful event to support local writers.
LOCAL AUTHORS TO PARTICIPATE IN SECOND "INDIE AUTHOR DAY"
Downtown Central Library Hosts Showcase for Authors Saturday, October 14, 2017
The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library at 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo will host its second annual "Indie Author Day" on Saturday, October 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
More than 50 local authors will showcase their publications, representing a cross-section of all types of literature.
Part of a worldwide effort to welcome and connect independent authors with public libraries, "Indie Author Day" will offer local writers and authors a rare opportunity to network with others about writing, marketing and the various publishing options available for independent authors. The event features presentations not only by local publishing experts, but also by national leaders from the self-publishing industry via video. Attendees can mingle with local writers and purchase copies of books at this event, which is free and open to the public.
"There is a strong and devoted literary community here in Western New York, and we are happy to shine a light on local authors," said Library Director Mary Jean Jakubowski. "The Library has made a commitment to include books by local writers in its collection, and we hope ‘Indie Author Day’ will help encourage new writers – and readers – to discover and appreciate many new literary offerings by hometown authors."
